An MFY Favorite – Malabrigo Rios takes all that we love about Malabrigo’s yarns and makes it machine washable! Strong, soft, and durable, this yarn is a workhorse that can be used for frequently-worn garments, housewares, and garments for babies and children. The use cases are endless and that’s one of the many reasons this is a staple go-to for knitters and crocheters!
Her idea was to make twelve colors, each corresponding to one of the twelve signs of the zodiac.
With this in mind, she created a mood board for each sign, using concepts or key aspects of the personalities popularly attributed to people born under each sign. Then, a color palette was selected based on those to transfer it into skeins. As an example, Pisceans are known for having a fanciful personality so she decided to add some colors typically associated with fantasies such as light blue, purple, and pink typically associated with fantasies and mythical creatures. Next, she added a deep green hue, relating these fantasies with the sea as well, since Piscis is a water sign.Â
She used the same process with all twelve colors. The process of investigation and experimentation was lengthy, carefully testing and selecting different dyeing methods for each color corresponding to a particular zodiac sign as it had been envisioned.

Hand-dyed yarns have subtle variations that cause colors to vary from skein to skein. As this is a natural part of the process, please note there may be differences between the yarn images shown and the yarn received. To counteract this, we encourage all crafters to buy enough yarn for their entire project at one time.
