Sweaters can be intimidating – but they don’t have to be! During this 90 minute overview workshop you will be introduced to the basic anatomy of a standard round yoke sweater utilizing top down, seamless construction. Sweaters can be constructed in many different ways. In this workshop we will focus on the basic skills you need to knit a seamless yoke sweater. The goal is to give you the confidence to tackle your first sweater! Our goal is to have you leave with the confidence to tackle sweaters using your preferred method, and if you need additional project support, you can always come back again for Quick Help or in a Bring Your Own Project class, or complete our entire Sweater Series and join us for the Anatomy of a Top Down Raglan Sweater, Modifying Your Sweater Pattern For a Custom Fit, and Marling workshops!

- Prerequisites: Knit, purl, knitting in the round
- Yarn + Class Materials: Some of our favorite beginner friendly Raglan Sweaters are: Party Top by AbbyeKnits (DK weight), Nuuk by Jonna Hietala, and Turtle Dove by Espace Tricot (Aran weight and bulky weight versions). Please select your pattern and collect materials as appropriate for that pattern. If you need additional assistance in selecting materials please email [email protected] or come into the shop! (Note: While you’re encouraged to bring your own needles/notions, we request that yarn used in classes be purchased at MFY.)
